Secrets

Secrets are the shadows we carry - sometimes sheltering, sometimes corrosive, always shaping the space between what is known and what is hidden. They can protect, conceal, or confine; they can wound or preserve. This work explores the duality of secrecy, where silence may be both a sanctuary and a burden, and mystery both a veil and an invitation.

The piece is rendered in a deep ink blue, built through layers of resin: blues that evoke depth and distance, purples that suggest intimacy and ambiguity, and a final veil of black that obscures, softens, and withholds. Together they create an optical darkness that resists easy reading, hinting at forms beyond perception - a surface that seems to withhold as much as it reveals.

The mirrored ground draws the viewer into this obscurity, offering a reflection that is partial, elusive, fractured - never fully given. In this interplay, the work becomes a metaphor for secrecy itself: what is glimpsed but never grasped, what lies beneath but cannot be summoned into light.

Secrets reminds us that mystery has its own allure. Not all that is hidden is meant to be revealed, and not all that is revealed brings freedom.
