Spectral Paintings

"Spectral" speaks to spectrums of light, colour and emotion - converging into charged, luminous fields where colour vibrates and light refracts. Working within and beyond the colour field tradition, these paintings treat colour as a medium in itself rather than a vehicle for something else.

Each work takes a specific condition of human existence as its subject - finitude, authenticity, resilience, acceptance - constructing colour to convey that condition through direct experience rather than symbolism. Built through layered dyed resin on mirrored surfaces, the paintings draw the viewer into the work - their own reflection held within the colour field itself. As light shifts and each individual stands before the surface, the colour responds.
